Fun in Barbados for the Whole Family

For an educational touch that you can add to your trip, you can’t go wrong by checking out the local historic sites. Gun Hill is a famous spot in Barbados, meant to symbolize the time when the island was ruled by the British. For something that you can take up a lot of time with, you might also want to check out the Barbados Museum, which has many historical artic facts and other interesting displays. The Museum stands on a site that once was a British prison, giving it that added appeal.
Once you decided that you have met your educational quota of your vacation, you might want to move on to some fun outdoor activities. There are plenty of water related activities to do, for people of all ages and skill levels. You can have a thrilling experience swimming with the local sea turtles, scuba diving and touring some of the many nearby wreckage sites of ships that have sunk, take the whole family sailing, or even go kite surfing. You can even take a submarine ride, often a once in a lifetime experience that your children will talk about for years to come! For fun family entertainment, get out and enjoy some of the culture of the people who call the island home. Take part in traditional dances, and the many cultural celebrations frequently held here. Or, have fun with food and enjoy a dinner theatre, where you can try some exotic native dishes, and enjoy a show all at the same time!
